About Me

It’s been almost 20 years since I started helping clients with their Health & Wellness issues. But the young girl that came into the profession is not the same woman who is sitting here writing this now. So much has changed. I have changed.

In the past 2 decades I have qualified in Fitness and Nutrition, Massage Therapy and Biomechanics, Pre and Post Natal and Exercise Referral. Then 10 years ago, after 3 years of trying to conceive, I was diagnosed with PCOS and Thyroid issues. This was the start of my fascination with Women’s Health. Not only for my own benefit but also to honour the thousands of women I have had the privilege of working with but even more so for those to come.

So over the last few years I have furthered my knowledge in Hormonal Health, Perimenopause and Menopause and am currently studying Female Pelvic Pain Rehab. And the more I learn about women’s hormones and the different phases of the Menstrual Cycle, the more I appreciate the Power of being a Woman!

From the age of 13 when I first started my periods, hormones dictated everything. They affected my confidence, my health, my energy and my relationships. I had mood swings so badly that I was sure there was something seriously wrong with me.

So when I finally learned what was actually going on within me, when I understood my hormones, I could figure out how to work with my cycle rather than against it. Being a woman means that not only are we are portrayed as being ‘less than’ because we bleed, but we perceive ourselves as being ‘weaker’. Let me tell you…we are anything but!

There is so much benefit to having a Menstrual Cycle, it’s just that most of us haven’t been informed of the beauty that lies within.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows. But now I know what days of my cycle I ooze confidence and can nail anything I set my mind to. I know what days I’ll be up for a bit of fun and when I just want to cuddle on the sofa with a book. I know when I can say “Hell Yes” and mean it and when I can spin a thousand plates and not drop a single one.

But more importantly, I know when in my cycle I will be exhausted and have nothing left to give. I know when my plates will come crashing to the ground if I’m not careful. Which means that I can prepare for these days. I can let go of the guilt and the high expectations I have and know that saying ‘no’ and looking after myself is a must if I’m to function in all the right ways when the time is right.

And with being a mum to 2 boys, a wife and running my own business, the information I have gained about my own cycle is absolute golddust!

Understanding my hormones, my moods and my body has not only changed my life but also my relationship with my husband and how I parent my boys. It has helped with my friendships and family as well as my work life. As Rod Stewart put it so well “I wish that I knew what I know now, when I was younger”. Life would have been a hell of a lot easier.

Which is why I made the decision to focus my dedication and passion to helping women make sense of their own bodies, moods, feelings, energy and pain. If I can help just one woman stop cursing their hormones and their body, it will all have been worth it.
