Okay, we're looking at the spiritual side. We're talking about your values. Now, when I say values, let me get this straight. I am not talking about being polite, being friendly, being nice, or whatever. You know those are great values, but that's not what I'm talking about. When I say values, it's about what makes your heart sing. What makes you feel grounded? What makes you feel alive. It’s also about all the things that, if they happen in your day, make you feel supported, maybe bring a sense of ease into your life. We're all so busy, so stressed. How can you make ease in your life? How can you improve your well-being? What would make you feel like, "Oh, okay, that feels good"? This is what really matters to you now. When I started to write down my values and what really matters to me now, having the chance to pause and breathe was a big one. Writing was another one. Music. Music is a huge part of my life. Before recording this workshop, I was really nervous, so I did a bit of dancing in my kitchen, and it just makes me feel good. It's important to me. The thing is, ultimately, what matters to us changes as we journey through life. What matters to us in our twenties and thirties may not matter anymore at all. My whole definition of success is completely different now. Very few people actually take the time to sit and consider that things have changed and adjust their lives accordingly. All of a sudden, we're at midlife. Instead of thinking, "Oh, wouldn’t it be nice to write a book or buy that camper van," it actually turns into "You better get this done now." This is when we need to start making those changes happen. This is new terrain; we need a new map. This is why we need to write down what really matters to us. So we’ve got that map in front of us and we go, "Okay, this matters to us. That’s what I’m going to aim for." One of the things to consider is that when we feel off—and a lot of us feel off in our forties and fifties—it’s because the life we’re living doesn’t actually meet what our souls need. What matters to us? We’re not actually living it. We’re out of congruency, and we need to change this. Pen and paper: what really matters to you now? That is the question. Write down one thing. What really matters to you now? Not about values. What is it that you really need to do and need to introduce into your life? Write it down along with the other three that we’ve written down. This is where you get started today. Please share them with me. I would love to know what you have written down and what your first steps are. Tiny steps—they don’t need to be massive. Tiny, tiny steps.
