I love this quote. I think it's awesome. So the older I get, the more I see how women are described as having gone mad when what they've actually become is knowledgeable and powerful and furious. Okay? Oh, my goodness me, you know. This perimenopause rage is a massive part, isn't it? You know, it's something that we sort of all are starting to feel if we've not felt it yet. But yeah, this rage. And you know, people believe, or people have that taboo that perimenopausal women are fucking crazy. You know, think about hysteria. It’s been going on forever. You know, the mood swings, the rage. This was originally from menstrual cycles and PMS, but perimenopause is no different. It seems to be that this is a time when we're actually crazier than ever, right?
But I think it's bullshit. We're not crazy. We have literally just had our eyes opened wide. We've taken off those rose-tinted sunglasses that made everything look rosy in the world. And we've literally got to the point where we see what the fuck is going on. And we've become, actually, we’re not going to give a shit anymore. We are going to stay true to us, stay true to our values.
One of the things I've come across personally is seeing all the injustices in the world. In the past, those injustices would have been kept to one side, and I would have gone, "Yeah, that's a bit sad." Now I'm like, "No, this is bullshit." One of the big rages and injustices that I come across is gaslighting. We've all been told that we're going crazy, that women are. You know, it's not like that, but it is like that. There is so much injustice in the world, especially with women. There are obviously other areas that are exactly the same. And I just get so enraged about it.
The other thing is, we're often told that we're not good enough, that we're not enough. And then we're also told that we're too much. We're just being told all these different things, and it's bullshit. It is absolute bullshit. So my purpose, especially for women in their midlife—and I think that's a difficult term, by the way, midlife. I know a lot of people are put off by that term. But in all honesty, if you're in your forties and fifties, it is midlife.
My whole purpose right now is to be part of that midlife woman’s journey, to be part of your journey, and help you become knowledgeable, powerful, and fucking furious, and to take control of your life and live what is true and aligned for you. We're done playing small. We're done hiding. We're done not being authentic. Now is the time that we find our tribe, the group of women that are going to make you feel safe and sane because we are sane. We might be furious, we might be on a bit of a rampage, but we are sane. There’s nothing crazy about it. And you find these women who are going to support you, who will guide you, who will share your dreams and celebrate your wins with you.
