## Transcript
We are looking at this stage in our life of getting comfortable in this liminal space. This term—liminal space—is an empty or abandoned place that appears eerie, forlorn, and often surreal. The big thing is that this liminal space is a place of transition. It is the in-between.
The image that comes to mind is being in a corridor with doors. You want to get from one door to the next, and it is this in-between place that we're in. If any of us have learned anything from COVID and lockdowns, it’s that this liminal space that we were all entered into—this not knowing—is incredibly difficult. Initially, we were probably going through the stages of grief, like denial and resistance.
At some point, many of us, including myself and others I've spoken to, had to reach a place of surrender. I had to surrender to not knowing, to just being in this in-between stage and phase. We are on a journey to a new place, but we’re not there yet. We don’t know who we are, what we’re doing, or what we want, and we’re in this in-between. So, we need to get comfortable with this in-between because menopause is the next part of our life.
Perimenopause is this transition to menopause. Things will change constantly over the next few years until you get to menopause. You have to literally put it in the “fuck-it bucket” and say, "I don't know. I really don't know." The only thing you can be sure of is what is true to you. So, stay true to yourself and what feels aligned with who you are.
