So, a little bit about me if we haven't met before. I am a women's health and wellness coach. I've been in the industry for over 20 years. Started out as a personal trainer. I then went into management. I went into fitness classes, so pretty much got all the certificates and qualifications that I could possibly get my hands on. I actually went into sports massage from there. I then went into biomechanics, which I know a lot of you know me from as the body mechanic, and that's where it's from. I did remedial massage and things like that.
What I was finding was that I was treating a lot of women in their forties and fifties for aches and pains that weren't really structural. This is where the hormones started coming in. I started to explore more about women's hormones, especially the menstrual cycle, menopause, and perimenopause, and how these can affect pain during that time. That was a big part of my life then. I now don't do hands-on work; occasionally, I might, but I tend not to because my passion at the moment is very much in helping women understand this part of their life and their hormones, and how everything interconnects. I think that's a big part you're going to see in this workshop. I don't believe it's just one thing. I want to teach about this whole integrated system that we've got going on.
I am from Wrexham, in North Wales, which a lot of people now know, or they have an idea of what Wrexham is. I am a mum to Dexter and Morgan; Dexter's just turned 14, and Morgan is going to be 11 soon. I'm married to James, and we've been together 26 years, married for 19. We met in school.
I am highly sensitive, an introvert, an obsessive note-taker, a research geek, and recently discovered that I'm probably neurodivergent—I'd say 99.99% sure, which probably explains all those bits above. And I swear a lot, so maybe listen to this with some headphones on if you're in the presence of little ones or people who don't like swearing. I've also included a photo of Lola. She is my baby girl, a Rottweiler Doberman Cross, and she's on the sofa at the moment, but sometimes she just comes over for a snuggle.
